About Me

Gary & Gloria Burlingame
We are two midwestern artists working primarily in pastel and acrylic. Samples of our work will be shown on this blog and updated from time to time. Gloria is a full-time/part-time art teacher. which is to say, she has a lot of part-time jobs. Gary is retired from the "daily grind" and enjoying the extra painting time. Our subjects are mostly figural with a few landscapes, florals and still lifes as well. We have both been involved with art creation for most of our lives, and we hope to continue for the rest of our lives. Our work is available for purchase at The Artery in Rock Island, Illinois. "What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot recognize the fact that the foot is more noble than the shoe, and skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed?" Michelangelo
